Over 150 people at Coffee Morning for Talitha Koum
On March 27th 2010 Hatfield Road Congregational Church held a Morning Fundraiser for Talitha Koum.
They had a bring and buy stall, lots of games, a face painter, refreshments, a delicious looking cake stall, a nail painter and a craft stall done, and run, by some of the children. There was also a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, including scuba diving lessons, free meals, haircuts, pampering sets, craft supplies and even a dolls house.
Talitha Koum also ran an information stand so that people could find out what the project was all about.
Emma Haggar, who organised the event, says “We all had a fantastic morning. Over 150 people came through the doors and in total we raised just over £520. Our church hasn't had a coffee morning for some years and one of our members commented how lovely it was to see the new generation of people in the church taking the lead and organising events.”
“I'd like to say thank you to all the businesses who donated and to everyone who attended and supported us. I counted people from at least 12 churches and I think it's really encouraging for all of us to know that Ipswich churches are supporting each other for the glory of God.”
