Access to Nature Ipswich

natureAccess to Nature Ipswich is a three-year project funded by the Big Lottery, through Natural England.  It is managed by CSV Media Clubhouse and delivered in partnership with The Greenways Countryside Project, working at a number of sites across Ipswich.

It’s aim is to encourage more people to enjoy the outdoors, particularly those who face social exclusion or those that currently have little or no contact with the natural environment - perhaps because they lack the confidence to get out and enjoy natural places or have few opportunities to do so.

Miles Row (project leader) says “The ultimate aim is that by the end of the project we will have created a legacy of motivated people across communities who realise the value of their local natural environment and have the tools and training to continue caring for it”.

“Since the start of the project we have run numerous events and activities, and participated in many more with partners, from River Cleanup day to half-term family fun days, photography walks to Vegetable Olympics, boardwalk building to Festive Crafts.  We have engaged with over 400 people, a number of whom have now become regular volunteers with the project.”
