Together in Prayer
They all joined together constantly in prayer. (Acts 1 v 14)
I remember 25 years ago, starting as a curate at a large city centre evangelical church which had `fallen on hard times': Small congregations, a loss of direction. My Vicar told me the most important meeting of the week was the Friday prayer meeting. You can miss anything but not that!
Although poorly attended, the small group of elderly prayer warriors did battle for that Church, not just on Fridays, but every day. That small team of battle hardened crack troops are now with Christ, and that Church is now bursting, full of people sitting under God's Word.
They had to build a gallery to fit more people in, and there are Church plants around the city. Thousands have come to Christ through the ministry of this Church:
This is the power of prayer. It is being on the front line in the eternal, cosmic battle. And you can join it in your own front room!
