Scripture Union appoints new National Director

The trustees of Scripture Union have appointed Revd Tim Hastie-Smith to be the new National Director.  He will take over when the present Director, Keith Civval, steps down from his leadership role in the movement in September.

Keith writes “Tim has a deep burden for mission and a heart of love for all people and brings a wealth of leadership gifts, which will be a great asset to us as we continue to grow and develop our ministry.  He studied history at Magdalene College, Cambridge and Theology at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, before being ordained and taking up a curacy at St Ebbe’s Church, Oxford.”

“He then moved into the world of education, taking the role of chaplain and Head of Theology at Stowe School and became Headmaster of Dean Close School.  He has been a school governor for a wide range of schools and is closely engaged in the national educational policy debate.”

You can read more about Tim and his vision for Scripture Union in an extensive interview online
