Network News
Network Ipswich
There are two new sections on the website that you may not have spotted yet:-
- Under “Connections” there is a new Web Links section, which lists a number of email addresses for other organisations that you may find useful from time to time. These include Regional Denominations, Churches Together websites, Christian community websites, Christian projects in Suffolk, Information about Christianity and Other sites of interest.
- Under “Directories” there is a new Services section listing businesses, projects and organisations in Ipswich and Suffolk who want to advertise their services to the local Christian community. If you have a business or service that you would like to be included in this, please let Alan Fisher know (stories@heart4ipswich.co.uk).
The website has now been running for 18 months, and readership is still increasing. People seem to be finding the stories and news of events useful and are coming back regularly (see readership growth chart).
However, we are still need more information about what is happening in local churches, and sometimes we miss things that are important. If you have a news item from your church which you think might be of wider interest - a change of personnel, a special event, some building work or whatever, please do let us know. Just email to stories@heart4ipswich.co.uk and we will follow it up.
Quite a lot of people have now arranged to make Network Ipswich their computer Home Page, so they are always up to date. If you would like to do this, there are some instructions at the bottom of this story.
Ipswich in Prayer
We are very thankful to Maureen Huntly who has been looking after the prayer items over recent weeks and sends out the twice monthly prayer emails to people who have registered on the site. Incidentally, there are now nearly 450 people signed up to receive these regular bulletins.
Heart for Ipswich
Work is still going on quietly in the background supporting local cross-church groups and helping to improve communications between Christians across the town.
We are co-ordinating two events to promote better communications between local Christian agencies and related professional groups in the town. Other projects include working with Christian organisations that have an interest in schools work, to see how this can be co-ordinated to be mutually beneficial; and a meeting is being planned for those who have a concern about debt issues, to assess whether present initiatives can be developed town-wide under a more strategic approach.
Our vision is still to “enable Christians from many churches to work together more closely to help meet the social and spiritual needs of the people of Ipswich, and to proclaim the good news of the Gospel”. So our thanks go to all the readers of Network Ipswich. Please keep reading, sending information, commenting (remember, you can add a comment to the foot of any story if you are registered) and making the site known more widely. And of course, please pray.
