Pentecost 2010 – and beyond

“The planning team would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came, and to all who worked hard to make the celebration such a success.  

 

We were again blessed by the weather and many people joined together afterwards for a picnic in Christchurch Park (thanks to Hope Church for overseeing that).

 

We have reviewed this year’s event and believe that we managed to build on many of the excellent foundations laid in 2009.  John Cobbold and his management team did an excellent job once again!

We are proposing a different format in 2011, with a particular focus on gathering to pray as the Church in Ipswich in some way over that Pentecost weekend.  There will not be a Cornhill Celebration of the same style in 2011.

However, looking ahead to 2012 – this will be the year of the London Olympics, with many people from oversees visiting Suffolk - we think that this will give us an opportunity for another town wide gathering with a format to be shaped by the needs and opportunities at that time.”
