Walk of witness through Ipswich town centre
Christians from all the major denominations of the churches in Ipswich staged a walk of witness through the town centre on Good Friday morning, stopping at several locations for hymn singing, readings from the gospel stories and prayers.
The walk, which has been held annually for several years, involved about 200 people. They walked in silence, following behind two crosses, to demonstrate to the shoppers the importance of Easter and their faith in Jesus.
The organiser of the walk, Revd Andrew Kleissner, who is minister of Christchurch Tacket Street, said “It is very important to tell the Easter story. Most people just don’t know what Easter is really about and this is a simple act of witness to try to convey that message.”

A conversation overheard:-
Man in shop: "What's going on?" Man in doorway: "I dunno. They're carrying crosses but I haven't seen any vampires ...".
