200 People attend Fashion Show

By Debbie Cook

As part of the “A Passion for Life” project, a group of churches in the North East of Ipswich have encouraged friends and neighbours to come to an event engaging with the Good News in a totally different setting.

They chose to put on a Fashion Show with drinks and nibbles, and time to chat and shop. Janice Davies then told her story about finding a personal relationship with God, and the transformation this has brought to her life.

Myrna, one of the event organisers, said ‘It was a great evening and thrilling to see so many women together (and a few very brave men!). It was fun to see the huge diversity of clothes on show and the "Models" strutting their way along the catwalk. It was also good to chat to old friends and engage with others, and to hear a powerfully told story of hope, peace and joy.’

Andrew Docherty, chair of Passion for Life Ipswich, said ‘Special thanks are due to those who worked so hard to put this event together, especially Lynn Turner, of St Matthew’s church, who helped to plan, choreograph and guide the evening; Michael Trower, a well known Ipswich-based hairdresser, from The River of Life Church, Felixstowe, who compered the evening, and his staff, who helped prepare the models for action. So many others were involved too, this was a night to celebrate a community of Christian people working together for one end...giving others an opportunity to hear something of Jesus.’

More opportunities are coming. Don't miss out. Bring your friends along!
