First Steps for Talitha Koum Project
The Talitha Koum project team and families recently held their first "Talitha Koum Family" meal together, when 17 key people met to celebrate the signing of the land option agreement.
This is the first tangible move towards the start of the planned Christian Therapeutic Community and, more importantly, it opens up the way to go forwards with a planning application.
The Talitha Koum Christian Therapeutic Community will offer a residential programme to provide routes out for women with life-controlling addictions, such as drug or alcohol abuse.
Talitha Koum’s CEO, John Cobbold, writes “It is exciting to see how God is working in this project. 2010 is a special year, as in the autumn it is planned to take our first ‘student’ in the Therapeutic Community.”
“The trustees and team would like to thank all the people who have played a part in this, as we reflect upon the vision which started in the front room of Liz Beaton’s house some 5 years ago and now is coming to fruition in 2010.”
“The response that we have had as we have travelled around the various churches has been amazing. The vision has touched peoples’ hearts and the many offers we have received to be prayer representatives, and to help in many other ways, has been fantastic.”
The team emphasise that it is important to under-gird this project with prayer and to seek the Lord’s guidance on the way forward. If you are interested in more information on this project, or would like any of the team to come to your church and give a presentation in your service, please contact John Cobbold.
