Ipswich CAP project needs Support Workers

Triangle CAP (Christians Against Poverty) project, which provides debt advice to people in Ipswich IP1 and IP2 areas, is in need of more people to help with support work.
 make-your-mark
Liz Webber, who runs the project, says “We urgently need Support Workers to help and befriend clients, with the aim of bringing them into Christian fellowship. This may include accompanying the debt advisor on visits, meeting the client for coffee, taking them food shopping, sending small gifts to encourage them, and praying for them.”

The project currently has five new clients who will need supporting over coming weeks. Liz says “Without new Support Workers, we may have to turn these people away.”

Christians Against Poverty is a national debt counselling charity with a network of 112 centres based in local churches. CAP offers hope and a solution to anyone in debt through its unique, in-depth service.

CAP aims to show God’s love in action by providing sustainable poverty relief through debt counselling, advice and practical help. CAP’s unique ‘hands on’ approach empowers people to help themselves out of poverty and be released from the fear, oppression and worry generated by overwhelming debts. They aim to provide sustainable poverty relief, teaching clients vital budgeting skills that will last a lifetime.

The charity operates through a growing network of UK centres, all opened in partnership with a local church.
