Ipswich Five-A-Side team needed

The Ipswich Inter Church Five-A-Side league has been in existence for many years, playing in two divisions at Northgate Sports Centre on Saturday evenings.

287875futsalHowever, this February there will be a vacancy for a new church side, as Burlington Baptist church are unable to enter a team, and so a replacement is urgently needed.

Churches currently playing are -  Burlington Baptist, Bramford Rd Methodist, Capel Community, Cauldwell Hall Baptist, Colchester Rd Baptist,  Orwell,  Rushmere Christian Fellowship, Salvation Army, St Andrew's, St John's, Triangle, Whitehouse Baptist and Whitton Baptist.

Local Organiser, Rodney Cook, writes “There are two seasons each year - from September to late January, and February to early July - with each team playing the other teams in the division during a season.”

“Not all the players regularly attend church - churches use it as an activity to involve young people and adults on the fringe of their churches.”

“At the moment, St Andrew's 'A' team have an unassailable lead at the top of the First Division, and with one game left to play, will be champions this season.”

“Whitehouse head the Second Division and also will be promoted to the First Division next season. Results on the final day of the Second Division season, 16 January, will decide whether St John's or Capel Community are also promoted.”

The league has a web site, which is updated weekly to show results and tables.  Go to http://ic5asidefl.webs.com/
