Church appoints new Buildings Officer
The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich has appointed Revd Alan Forsdike to the post of Buildings Officer (part time) on a one year contract.
Alan will be working with the Director of Education and his work will focus on our school buildings. This was the role previously filled by the Schools Officer post which has been vacant for almost four years. A surveyor employed by the County Council working on many public buildings, Alan was also part of the team which oversaw the move to Endeavour House in Ipswich. "I hope my experience of design, construction and strategic planning will benefit the development and ongoing stewardship of church schools and other buildings," says Alan, who is an Ordained Local Minister serving in the Westerfield and Tuddenham with Witnesham benefice.
"This exciting role takes me back to my roots. Going out to meet people, talking about their building needs and finding solutions that will turn their aspirations into reality. The challenge is to get not only the best value but also the best results from our resources," he says.
"Having Alan's skills available in the office will be a useful support to staff looking after our many property responsibilities," says Diocesan Secretary Nicholas Edgell.
