Death of Suffolk Church Leader

  

“It is with great sadness that we have to report the unexpected death of Canon Simon Pettitt after a short illness.  Simon has been a faithful servant of this diocese ever since he came as Diocesan Schools Officer in 1980.  He has served in the parishes of Hintlesham with Chattisham, St John’s Bury St Edmunds, Exning St Martin with Landwade and currently in Horringer.  He was a Rural Dean in two different Deaneries and Diocesan Communications Officer for a period. 

 

His careful compilation of the quarterly Intercession Paper was a great gift to the whole diocese. 

 

He will be sorely missed and our prayers and love go out to Sally and all his family. 

 

The funeral will be at the Cathedral on Wednesday 6th January at 2.00 pm.”
