African Adventure – another successful season

CYM have just finished their 5th season at African Adventure, based at a purpose built African village site in the woods at Sizewell Hall in Suffolk.

AA04Some comments from teachers and others this year were:-
“…scrumdiddlysumptious food”
“…I loved playing the wide game and taking part in the children’s lives”
“…the quality of the staff is in a different league to other centres in this county”
“… (teachers) fight to come to African Adventure!”

The season seen 590 children and just under 100 teaching staff from around the Ipswich area come on an Adventure holiday - either on a 3 or 5 day programme. Next season CYM will work with 700 children and over 100 teaching staff.

Further news is that ex head teacher, Phil Sharples, has joined the African Adventure staff team, as a volunteer on once a week basis, which will bring further expertise, passion and experience to the whole programme.

Leaders, Tom, Chris and Phil say “The volunteers who come to cook and help deliver African Adventure are outstanding – we are truly blessed.”

“African Adventure next season will be going deeper into relationships, programme content, personal reflection time, Christian witness and more time will be spent both pre & post AA, within schools. Please pray that nothing gets in the way of this. Your prayer support cannot be underestimated nor thanked enough. We thank God for this Kingdom opportunity – let’s keep running the race together and win.”
