“Open the Book” spreads to new Ipswich schools

New Open the Book teams are springing up in primary schools across the town. Whitehouse Baptist Church hopes to take regular assemblies in Whitehouse Junior School starting in Spring 2010. St Matthew’s and All Saints Churches are liaising with Springfield Junior School to start an Open the Book programme.

We also hope to establish teams soon in Broke Hall Primary and Morland Primary. Ben

Please pray for the dozens of volunteers already presenting Bible stories in schools across the town and for the new teams as they get established in schools.

If you would like to be part of an Open the Book team please get in touch with Ben Wale at CYM. Tel 01473 216712 or e-mail ben@c-y-m.org.uk

All that each volunteer needs is a heart for their local school and for working with children (and a sense of fun!). Prior experience in schools or working with children is not essential.

Open the Book" is a series of 90 Bible stories, presented weekly over three years in primary schools. It is a national project, adopted for use in Ipswich by CYM in conjunction with local volunteer storytellers. More details can be found on the Project Directory section of the website Click Here
