A Passion for Life – What’s Happening Now
Following the visit of Stephen Gaukroger on October 8th, a number of initiatives are being followed up by Ipswich Christians in the run up to the Passion for Life mission in March 2010.
Cluster Groups
Church leaders are getting together in clusters to plan local activity in the run-up to March 2010. There are four groups in Ipswich, as well as one in Kesgrave/Martlesham and one covering Mid-Suffolk. Joint training, collective prayer and shared outreach activities are now starting to take place.
In NE Ipswich six churches are holding meetings for prayer and worship. They are planning events which provide opportunities for people to hear a snippet of the Christian message. The first of these is a Sports Quiz on 31 October where Dan Walker, who presents Football Focus on BBC1, will give an interview.
Training
Julie Kite is currently teaching a church-based event at Bethesda Baptist over 4 evenings and the central cluster has a day planned in the New Year.
As well as general training she will be responsible for training a group of volunteers to be available to speak with people during and after the events with Stephen Gaukroger. If you would like to consider being involved in this, please talk to your church leader who will pass your name onto Julie.
