New book by Ipswich authorElainephoto

Elaine Coltham’s new poetry book Manna From Heaven has just been published and is raising money for The Manna Community Project in Kajiado, Kenya.

This project is an extension of The Kajiado Children’s Home that provides care for orphaned, destitute and disabled children living in the Rift valley area of Kenya about 70 Km from Nairobi. (See the earlier Network Ipswich article “Local Couple visit Kenyan Children’s Home”, by Marian Rushbrook, on the Mission and International Action Zone).

There are about 2000 families in a 10 Km radius of the project who hCoverave no medical services and have to travel over rough terrain to get help. The Manna Community Project works with the local Maasai community to help provide clean water, basic medical care and other help to alleviate some of the hardships faced daily.

The cost of the book is £7.00 and for every copy sold, Elaine will be donating £3.00 to the project to help towards building the new medical centre.

Manna From Heaven contains 15 poems, each with an individual introduction explaining the inspiration behind the poem. There are many drawings, photographs and bible readings throughout the book too. It is ideal for personal reading or maybe to give as a Christmas present.

This is Elaine’s sixth book. She writes “As you may be aware all my books have Poembeen sold to support a chosen charity; to date, £2,150 has been raised from my writing and shared between E.A.C.H., Tearfund, The Salvation Army and The Children’s Society. I am looking forward now to working to assist the vision for The Manna Community Project.”
