Telegraph features CYM’s African Adventure

villageThere is national recognition for CYM’s African Village in the Weekend Telegraph of May 16, which contains a story about the concept and development of this very successful project. It outlines what the schoolchildren find when they arrive at Sizewell, and the various tasks and learning experiences they encounter during the course of their five day stay.

Local Headteacher, Libby Brown, provides some background information and explains how valuable the project has been for the children at her school.

Full time CYM worker, Ben Whale, who is also a trained teacher, gives more details about the activities the schoolchildren undertake and the educational and spiritual concepts behind the programme.

CYM Administrator, Ian France, says “We certainly do not need the publicity but Jim Hammett the CEO of CCI/UK has been so enthusiastic about the whole project, and thought it deserved national coverage in recognition of its uniqueness. Following this we may be inundated by schools from around the country wanting to book in, which is something we may need to think about!  We shall see!”
