Ipswich delegates at Community Issues Forum

Recently two Church leaders, a policeman and myself (all from Ipswich) went to a Leaders’ Forum in Manchester, bringing together Church leaders and police from various towns and cities across the nation.
Liz
The two main speakers were both Chief Constables (also Christians) - Peter Fahy from Greater Manchester and Matt Baggott from Leicestershire.  Both spoke very well and challengingly about current issues – problems faced by the police, community policing, the Church in the community and ways we can work together.

One of the Chief Constables said that the greatest divide he sees in the nation today is between old and young - generational.  Young people are often seen as a threat by the older generation who don't understand the culture, and in many cases young people have not learn to respect or learn from the older generation.

How can the church help to bridge this gap in Ipswich?  How can we bring together young and old within the Church, and also help to break down wrong perceptions and build up good relationships in the communities in which God has set us?

Please pray about this and if possible discuss in your own fellowships.  Feed back to us please via the comment section below, or to prayer@heart4ipswich.co.uk
